A snickerdoodle is a kind of leavened cookie, dusted in sugar and cinnamon. Although most well known in America, it is believed that Snickerdoodles may have originated in Germany.
Makes about 3-4 dozen cookies
- 350g flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 300g sugar
- 165g butter (room temp)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp cinnamon
Mix together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream together the sugar and butter. Add the eggs and vanilla and blend well.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.
